This course aims to promote a clearer understanding of the term “Autism” and to help participants view their teaching from the perspective of the autistic child. To support the positive, meaningful and monitored integration of an autistic child from the ASD class into the mainstream classroom. To equip the participants with the tools that will allow them to recognise all opportunities for inclusion/ integration. To help participants support the wellbeing of all stakeholders and at all stages of the integration process. To equip teachers with the current guidelines on effective practice as set out by the Department of Education.
The main aim of this course is to promote positive inclusion and differentiation in the classroom. Teachers will be given the tools to support and maintain the practice of effective integration to and from their classrooms. Teachers will be given the tools to help them reflect on their own practices of effective integration and through self-evaluation, they can learn to build on the foundations that they already have. Teachers will learn about the importance of the development of clear communication between all stakeholders in the integration process.
