Participants doing this training learn how to facilitate:

  • Restorative Circles: These can be used to build good relationships or solve group problems.
  • Restorative Meetings: These are used to resolve conflict in groups and
  • Restorative Conferences: These are used to address serious wrongdoing. Restorative Practices conferences work on the basis that the wrongdoer takes responsibility for their actions, and the people harmed by the wrongdoing are supported to overcome and move on from harm.

Participants who complete this course and the GSWRP course will fulfil one of the criteria for applying for the Training of Trainers Course, provided by CDI Tallaght.

Facilitator: Richie Walsh has over 39 years of experience in primary education, including 23 years as principal of St. Mark’s Senior National School in Tallaght. In the last decade of his career, he led a school community dedicated to Restorative Practice (RP). As an RP Practitioner and Trainer, Richie works with school communities, teachers, SNAs, and parents, delivering training through the Childhood Development Initiative (CDI) as an Associate Quality Specialist. He teaches RP to undergraduate students at Maynooth University’s Froebel Department of Primary and Early Childhood Education.
