Making Language Link work for your School

Making Language Link work for your School

LANGUAGE LINK PRESENTATION FOR NEW AND EXISTING USERS IN MONAGHAN/CAVAN

MAKING LANGUAGE LINK WORK FOR YOUR SCHOOL (ONLINE)

Who is Speech & Language Link?

Speech & Language Link offers award-winning online assessments and interventions that empower
schools to identify and support the speech and language difficulties of students in primary and
secondary education.

Each of the packages, including Speech Link, Infant Language Link, Junior Language Link
and Secondary Language Link, are tailored to a different age-range.

The Benefits of Speech Link and Language Link

The packages are designed to allow you, as teachers, to easily assess students and provide the
training, tools and resources to put support in place in a timely and cost-efficient way. The packages
are best carried out in liaison with a local speech and language therapist. They are not designed to
replace SaLT; Language Link can be an additional and efficient way to support children’s language at
school.

They place great emphasis on screening ALL students to ensure that mild and moderate needs are
identified early and supported via our range of 1-1, small-group, and whole class interventions.
Each assessment generates a report highlighting a student’s individual areas of need and if necessary,
suggests which of our interventions would benefit them, for example, ‘Vocabulary’, ‘Concepts’ and
‘Following Instructions’.
If a student’s needs are significant, the report will recommend referral to your school’s SaLT services.

The Online Presentation

Tuesday 23rd September: 15:30 - 17:00
The online presentation will be led by one of the in-house speech and language therapists, Emma
Price. Emma will give you an overview of primarily Infant and Junior Language Link, including how
to use the new standardised School Entry Assessment and the changes in colour banding, as well as
interventions and provide an opportunity for you to ask questions.

The presentation slides will be made available to you in addition to the step-by-step training videos,
which you can access within the packages to show you how to run assessments and interventions.
The friendly Help Desk team is also available during school hours for additional support.
