Dates: Monday 7th - Friday 11th July 2025
Times: 9:30 am - 2:00pm
Location: Monaghan Education Centre
Registration Fee: €50.00
The course facilitates opportunities for experiential and reflective practice for participants enabling them to identify and reflect on effective planning and teaching practices as outlined in the Statements of Practice (Teaching and Learning) of the SSE Guidelines (Primary). Each module will encourage an element of reflective practice, facilitating a contribution to group discussion to consider aspects of special needs education and how these reflections can be shared on return to school with teaching colleagues, developed and embedded in their own professional practice and in their own schools. At the end of the course, teachers will complete a written reflective assignment that examines how they can use the learning and skills acquired during the course to improve their practice and promote a more inclusive environment and better learning experience for each child with SEN in their schools. Teachers will identify the stakeholders in SEN provision, consider their roles and discuss how their views can be regularly gathered, collated and incorporated in the review of SEN policy and practice in order to improve learning outcomes and experiences of learners. Templates for the gathering of data will be provided.
- The Admin Fee is non-refundable.
- All courses qualify for EPV days providing participating teachers meet DES attendance criteria.
- The centre reserves the right to cancel a course if sufficient bookings do not materialise.
