PDST TiE Digital Storytelling in the Classroom: Filmmaking
Course Title: PDST TIE - Filmmaking and Digital Storytelling
Maximum Capacity: 30
This creative PDST TiE summer course will introduce teachers to the skills involved in the filmmaking process in the primary school context. Each module in this course is designed to encompass a hands-on approach to learning and mirrors the process, step by step, that participants can use when undertaking filmmaking with their pupils.
The content in this course will also focus on the Fís Film Project, a highly successful film project for primary schools that explores film as a medium of expression in relation to the arts. Useful resources, such as storyboard templates and shot lists, will be shared for use in the classroom.
Other key areas of course content to be explored during the week include exploring the Digital Learning Framework, digital citizenship and internet safety, finding and selecting good quality digital resources online, and exploring Universal Design for Learning, which aids differentiation and pupils with additional educational needs.
