The Future of Teacher CPD in Ireland (Online)

As the teaching profession moves, tentatively, into a post-pandemic environment, it seems opportune to ask what the future of teacher CPD in Ireland will look like. Are blended events preferable? What constitutes (good) CPD? Is there an agreed understanding of quality assurance? What will be the role of Education Centres?

Having invited representation from education stakeholders (NCCA, support services, patrons, unions, representative bodies, Teaching Council, Subject Associations, Inspectorate, 3rd level Schools of Education etc.), we now invite you and your colleagues to attend a special – short – Consultative Event at 11:00am, Wednesday, 25th May 2022, lasting no more than 90mins.

The agenda is as follows:

• A  brief summary of the current CPD environment
• Emerging Policy and Practice considerations
• The evolving nature of teacher supports
• Input and observations from represented groups

The information and observations shared on the day will feed into the organisation of a half-day conference in late September / early October on the same topic, where there will be a deeper dive into the issue(s).
